Sacrifice

5 years ago, I had to take a bullet for the well being of my homie Tyrone. I remember this like if it was yesterday. The sky was clouded and it was pretty humid. I was walking down the hood with my homie. And the all of the sudden, a big-ass truck drifted in front of us and a black dude came out the truck and yelled, “Yo niggas are fucked”. Then, he pulled out a shotgun, so I stood up in front of Tyrone and took a shot in the leg for him. The positive is that my homie and I survived the attack. The negative is that I lost a leg. If I had to change something from this experience is the fact that I took a shot for my homie because he owed me 2 kilograms of cement. I can connect this to the articles that I read because, in these articles people gave their life to save someone else. For example, in one, a kid drowned in order to save the life of his brother. The other article, a dad gave his life to save his son, he pushed him from an upcoming car.

Claudius: Claudius killed his brother, King Hamlet, in order to get the throne. This might sound bad but in the other hand, Claudius would never become the king because, prince Hamlet was the next to take the throne. Therefore, Claudius had to kill his brother because he would never have got the chance to become a king because he would get way to old and die.

Prince Hamlet: Prince Hamlet had the right to kill his uncle, Claudius, because he killed his father and he took his throne. Also, he married his mother, which Prince Hamlet loved.  Prince Hamlet was exile from Claudius’ kingdom, so he had the right to revenged his father and return to his land.

Martin Luther King Jr.

"10 Things You May Not Know About  Martin Luther King Jr." by Christopher Klein, "20 Interesting Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Facts" by Daven Hiskey, and "Martin Luther King Jr. -Trials Litigation, etc." by JPMorgan  Chase & Co. are articles that demonstrates the amazing facts and contributions that Dr. King gave to this world. These articles made me feel inspired because, Dr. King wanted a better future for next generations. He wanted and end segregation in the United States. This individual inspired me to become  a better citizen and to teach the next generation to respect each other,  no matter where they are from or from their skin color. I learn that Dr. Luther had a different name,  Michael, and he changed his name afterward to Martin. Martin Luther King Jr. is one of the biggest role model in the world because he fight peacefully against segregation.

Ask Teaching Tolerance

This article is about how we should educate our society to accept or at least tolerate  transgender people.  We are already in the 21th century, we are already supposed to be advance in technology and supposed to be more tolerant to people, since everyone has different beliefs and point of view, we should respect their beliefs. This article made me fell compassion with the transgender community because, I know that they are passing through emotional problems and that is why I believe why schools should teach to accept all kind of people.

Gender Rolls

SEX?SEXUAL ORIENTATION?
GENDER IDENTITY?
GENDER EXPRESSION?

The article I just read , is about how kids from really young age develop their sexual preference. This article discuss the controversy if schools should teach sexual orientation. This article shows how students start to develop their sexual preferences since young ages and how teachers and other students start to point fingers at them. This article is somehow similar to the articles a read in class, "The Beautiful, the Bulemic, and the Dead', & 'Pondering Manhood's Price'.
